Naturally Organic Skin Care

"Organic" is - in the truest sense of the word - everyone's lips. Products from organic agriculture are becoming increasingly popular and now everyone knows the EC green organic seal, which is emblazoned on more and more items that can no longer only in multivitamins, but also in conventional supermarkets and discount stores to be acquired.

Less well known is, however, that there is also a quality standard for natural cosmetics. The "Association of German Industry and Trading Firms for pharmaceuticals, health, nutritional supplements and personal care products" (BDIH) certified cosmetic items with the "BDIH seal for certified natural cosmetics. In this way the very fuzzy concept of "natural cosmetics should be" transparent to the consumer and are adequate to ensure comparability of the products.

The rules will be awarded according to which the mark is strictly: herbal ingredients must come from organic farming, animal ingredients or animal testing are not prohibited. Nor may the products contain synthetic colors and fragrances or place a conservation by radioactive radiation.

Further guidelines are aimed at the BDIH environmental and social impact, which specifically means that raw materials are to be used from sustainable farming and fair trade, and requires cosmetics companies to keep the amount of packaging materials as small as possible.

Already more than 100 manufacturers have been awarded the seal of approval, others have announced plans to expand its product range in the near future for natural cosmetics.

And for good reason: The sales figures to rise. Increasing allergies to synthetic colors or preservatives mean that the (no longer exclusively female) consumers are increasingly on the natural personal care products, and uses the conventional products on the shelves can be.
